William
E. "Bill" Smith, Chairman

Mr.
Smith is involved in various real estate ventures and is
a partner with Michael Jordan in Smith-Jordan
Partnership. Previously, Mr. Smith was president of Stone Mountain
Ford and Heritage Lincoln-Mercury until the businesses were
sold in December of 2000. During his thirty years in the
automobile
business, Mr. Smith served in various capacities as chairman
of Ford Dealers Advertising Association, chairman of the Metro
Atlanta Automobile Dealers Association, chairman of the Georgia
Automobile Dealers Association and served on the Board of Trustees
of the GADA Self-Insured Workers Compensation Trust Fund. Mr.
Smith is a graduate of Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia
receiving his Bachelors in Business Administration and then
his MBA. Mr. Smith is an active member of Smoke Rise Baptist
Church. As one the original organizers of Eastside Bank, Mr.
Smith served as an organizing director, chairman of the asset/liability
committee, chairman of the audit committee, member of the executive
loan committee, and vice chairman of the bank. |
