Mr.
Tibbetts is president and CEO of the Tibs Group, Inc., in
Suwanee, Georgia. Tibs Group, a family owned
business established over thirty years ago, is a single source
provider of electrical, technology, power quality and security
services and solutions. Mr. Tibbetts began working in the electrical
service business as an electrical apprentice as a teenager.
After graduating from the University of West Georgia with a
business degree, Mr. Tibbetts returned to work in the family
business full time. Since 1996, he has served as the company’s
CEO guiding the company into new areas. As a result of his
entrepreneurial efforts, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce selected
him as Small Business Person of Year for 2003. He is also a
strong supporter of Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC)
and an active member of the Atlanta chapter. In 2002, the Atlanta
IEC chapter named him Member of the Year for 2002. Active in
the local community, Mr. Tibbetts serves on the board of directors
for the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, on the Executive Foundation
for Gwinnett Technology College, as well as the City of Suwanee’s
Open Space Planning Committee. Other community activities include
the Red Cross, Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, Annandale
Village, and numerous other organizations. He is a member of
Lawrenceville United Methodist Church. |
